Through this concert, soprano Mathilde Duval-Laplante and pianists Rosemarie Duval-Laplante and Jean-Michel Dubé sensitively create a contemplative space around peace in times of war. From the fragmentation of musical forms to the creation of phantasmagorical atmospheres that respond to a need for escape, the trio uses music to convey reflections on the realities of the front lines. Through music and readings of wartime correspondence, this concert is an ode to peace at a time when global conflicts are more relevant than ever.
