Mrs. Brûlé is a teacher who clings to her vocation through thick and thin. In a performance that blends theatre, clowning, and improvisation, actress Évelyne Laniel delivers a solo act that is both humorous and critical.

Called in for a last-minute substitute position, Mrs. Brûlé is thrilled at the idea of landing her first teaching contract. However, her enthusiasm quickly turns to panic when she realizes she is the fourth substitute teacher of the year. Her arrival in the classroom also coincides with the annual parent-teacher meeting, during which she is supposed to hand out report cards that are… nowhere to be found.

Through a series of physical comedy routines combining slapstick and object theatre, the audience—sometimes taking on the role of a student, other times that of a parent—witnesses the downward spiral of a teacher who, despite everything, holds on to a single hope: her calling to change the world, one child at a time.
