Maude is a nurse. Despite her absolute devotion to her patients, it is two colleagues in particular who brighten up her days: Christophe, whose smile makes her lose 12 IQ points every time she sees him, and Alfrédine, a nurse in her seventies whose humour and wisdom ease the burden of her exhaustion. When shocking news rocks their trio, Maude finds herself teetering on a knife-edge. Can you stop when you’re already hurtling towards a brick wall? How do you carry on looking after others when you’ve stopped looking after yourself? 21 November is a play that is both tender and biting, where days collide and where the hospital corridors bring both life and death, every single day.
